Between March 12th and 17th, 2023, the kick-off meeting of the HAInnovPrev project took place in Coimbra, Portugal. This meeting was organized and hosted by the Coimbra Nursing School (ESEnfC), which is the project coordinator. In addition to the ESEnfC team, representatives from partner institutions were also present: Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – Escola de Enfermagem Anna Nery (Brazil), Universidade Federal de Viçosa (Brazil), Universidad Andina del Cusco (Peru), and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Chota (Peru).
The opening session, held on March 13, 2023, was attended by the President of ESEnfC, representatives of the School’s bodies, the Scientific Coordinator of the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing (UICISA: E), as well as representatives from all the higher education institutions in the Consortium.
This transnational meeting proved to be a pivotal moment for introducing the Consortium partners and discussing the challenges facing nursing education in the field of healthcare-associated infection prevention and control, as well as antimicrobial resistance in Latin America. The agenda also included finalizing the tasks associated with Work Package 1, which encompassed the Quality Plan and communication and intranet tools. This meeting also provided an opportunity to plan and manage the activities to be carried out throughout the project.
